Mission Statement
The Dept. of Physical Education is committed to excellence in teaching, research and community service in the fields of Physical Education and Sports by Providing quality education and Congenial Environment to students and staffs.

Aim:
The aim of the department is to prepare ideal Physical Education Teacher trained in practical skills, Philosophically based reasoning, hypothesis formation , reading of research findings, so that they are competent and versatile in dealing with future demands of the society

The department is currently offering the follwing programmes of study :

About program

M.Phil. in Education is a one year (two semesters) regular programme with project work. There are 10 seats in the M.Phil. Programme.
Every candidate interested in admission to M.Phil. Programme has to appear and qualify the Entrance test of the University to be held every year.

Eligibilty Criteria

Bachelor‟s degree in any discipline with 50% marks and having at least participation in the Inter-College/Inter-Zonal/District/School Competition in sports and games as recognized by the AIU/IOA/SGFI/Govt. of India.

About programme

Eligibilty Criteria

Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or equivalent with at least 50% marks.

About programme

It is a one-year (Two semesters) full time, self–financed programme. The candidate must have passed Bachelor degree (10+2+3) with at least 45% marks from a recognized University. The Admission will be done on the basis of Merit, Aptitude Test and Interview. Students must also be medically fit (certificate from Civil Assistant Surgeon and general flexibility test conducted by the selection committee) and able to perform various Asanas. An age limit of 40 years as on 1st June will be there. The medium of instruction and writing examination shall be in English/ Hindi

The Department offers Ph.D. programme in the areas like Sports Biomechanics, Measurement & Evaluation, Sports Psychology and Sports Training Programs.
